Mode of Action:
Calcium is absorbed in the intestine which then passes through the intestine to blood & deposited into bone. Active transport through cell is dependent on Vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 keeps bones healthy by increasing the absorption of calcium in the intestines. Without Vitamin D3 body will be able to absorb only 10% to 15% of the calcium from the diet. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant to protect immune cells, supports collagen synthesis for tissue integrity, enhances the function of immune cells like phagocytes, exhibits antiviral properties and stimulating interferon production, modulates inflammation to balance immune responses, maintains skin and mucous membrane barriers against pathogens.
