Itraconazole (Azonox®) is an orally active triazole antifungal agent that has broad-spectrum of activity against wide range of pathogenic fungus.

Indications:
Itraconazole (Azonox®) is used for the treatment of Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea pedis, Tinea manus, Vulvovaginal candidiasis, Fungal keratitis, Pityriasis versicolor, Oropharyngeal candidiasis, Onychomycosis, Histoplasmosis, Systemic Infections: (Aspergillosis, Candidiasis and Cryptococcus when other drugs are not effective). Antifungal prophylaxis: To prevent systemic fungal infection in severely neutropenic patients.

Mode of Action:
Itraconazole (Azonox®) inhibits cytochrome p-450 dependent enzymes resulting in impairment of the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a major component of the cell membrane of yeast and fungal cells.
